In blind listening tests, Chatterbox hit a 63.75% preference rate against ElevenLabs — a clear win, not a tie. Supports high-quality voice cloning on a single consumer GPU, ~75ms latency on the Chatterbox Turbo variant, and includes AI watermarking (PerTh) for ethical deployment. English-only in the base release. All output is watermarked by default, which is transparent and ethical but may not suit all private deployments. Best for developers who want ElevenLabs-quality TTS and voice cloning at zero cost with full self-hosting and code access.
